The Vanguard Prize
The Vanguard Prize allows Vanguard Court to help new artists grow and develop and reinforces Vanguard's strong links with Camberwell College of Arts, just over the road.
The prize, launched in 2010, is for recent graduates of Camberwell College of Arts and those currently graduating. The judges are looking for talented artists from any disicpline who can most benefit from the award.
The winner is offered a year's free studio residence at Vanguard Court along with ongoing mentoring and support from Camberwell College to help them develop their work and their career and finishes with a show in Camberwell Space.

The 2010 Vanguard Prize was won by Murray O'Grady seen here at work in his studio at Vanguard Court.
After his residency at Vanguard Court, Murray went on to study for a postgraduate diploma at The Royal Academy and, like many of our past winners, looks set for great things.
"I feel that I've had an extremely productive, successful and enjoyable year developing my practice and career following my graduation from Camberwell last summer. Without the studio at Vanguard Court however, I am confident that much of what I have achieved this year would not have been possible ... The prize is a really rare and generous one."
